(Use GPS to Ramblin Rd. in West Columbia.  On Ramblin Road, follow LCMGV signs)

Wander along a brick walkway past the greenhouse, to a terrace featuring a vintage sundial. Relax on Victorian iron benches for a breathtaking view of hilltop mountain-laurels and a neighboring lake. Depart the terrace and proceed to the first two of three camellia gardens. Nature then beckons visitors to the secret garden, enclosed with brick and decorative iron fencing. Continue through a larger courtyard of fragrant winter shrubs to enjoy the final two camellia gardens.

You will find a lovely garden overlooking the Saluda River.  This garden features mature antique camellias, many planted in the 1940s and 50s.

Dan Clayton, owner of Paradise Plants Plus will have a variety of camellias available at this garden to enjoy and purchase.

John is President of the Mid-Carolina Camellia Society here in town and in charge of two large camellia shows each year. The Makers have won numerous camellia prizes for their blooms. Original landscaping was done by Catherine’s parents.
